I love chasing lightning over the Llano Estacado! I never know what the storms will present. Sometimes, the storms are fairly predictable isolated cells. Other times, everything is rain-wrapped so I can't shot photos.
Once in a while, as a storm settles down in the early morning hours, the storm throws out one last surprise. In this case, I had spent 15 minutes shooting unimpressive cloud-to-cloud lightning when this mighty blast lit up the sky and left me blinking. I am very glad I decided to continue shooting so I could capture this beauty!
