A huge block of fields lay untouched during the height of the drought in 2011. The high winds of the May sandstorm picked up the sand and dust in a huge column visible for many miles around even as the dust had started to settle down in other areas. The very late afternoon sunlight turned it from brown to a terrible, but beautiful yellow.
